Kosovo Manufacturing Club supports the decision of the Ministry of Trade and Industry to establish protective measures for the import of milk originating from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
This decision was very necessary considering the fact that milk imports from Bosnia and Herzegovina came at a price lower than the cost of domestic dairy products, also taking into account the increase of this import into the domestic market, which as a consequence has profoundly damaged the position of domestic dairy products.
The dairy sector in Kosovo is rated as one of the most employed sectors and one of the most prospective sectors in the Kosovo’s economic development and the Kosovo Manufacturing Club supports any decision that directly protects the interests of local producers. It should be borne in mind that this decision on import protection measures directly affects the production of farmers and dairy processors.
Such protective measures are welcomed by the Kosovo Manufacturing Club because they provide a great relief to local producers, and the Club will continue to support MTI for any decision that supports local producers and at the same time encourages what to continue with policies that strengthen the country’s production.
