Further strengthening of the manufacturing sector along with the retail sector, is a prerequisite for the development of the country’s economy, while vital cross-sectoral cooperation is a determine of the trajectory of the level of this development.

At this regard, the Kosovo Manufacturing Club together with the Retail Vendors Network organized visits to supermarket chains such as VivaFresh and Interex where they met with leaders of the respective companies. The deepening of cooperation, the provision of supply during the pandemic, the closest acquaintance with the requirements of the customers and the co-operation of the steps that enable the development of both sectors, were the reasons for organizing these meetings.

The manufacturers expressed their satisfaction with the meetings and thanked the networks for the cooperation so far, while emphasizing the need to increase support furthermore in the future. On the other hand, the leaders of these retail chains, VivaFresh and Interex, praised the commitment of manufacturers in the development of new quality products in the market as they provided support and demanded that communication between the parties continue, where new avenues of cooperation and action will be opened.

Both sides agreed that in addition to the focus on domestic trade, they should intensify cooperation in the future for the placement of local products in the region’s markets, while emphasizing the need to review trade legislation in order to address issues that hinder development of these two sectors of fundamental importance to the country’s economy.

Kosovo Manufacturing Club and Retail Vendors Network, will organize other meetings in the coming days between members who they represent in order to deepen cooperation and create a platform that offers alternatives for the development of the country.
