Kosovo Manufacturing Club (KMC) has signed an agreement of understanding today with municipality of Gjilan to launch the implementation of the “Job Training Program”, a program that is funded by the USAID project, EMPOWER Private Sector, in partnership with the Swedish Agency for International Development and Cooperation, Sida.

The “Job Training Program” aims to mobilize companies from the private sector in order to be more actively engaged in youth training economically excluding their professional skills. For this reason, KMC in partnership with the private sector, has started implementing this program, which is structured to develop professional skills for young people and increase their employment opportunities.

In the municipality of Gjilan, the first beneficiaries of this program will be the young people who will be trained at work through direct engagement in the company. At the end of the training, it is expected that some of the beneficiaries will be able to get hired at the Manufacturing Club’s partner companies. Candidates will benefit from a qualified and structured training program for labor market needs.

The Mayor of Gjilan, Mr. Lutfi Haziri said that he feels good that young people are being able to prove themselves in practical work in the manufacturing sector. “It is a pleasure for us that another USAID program is beeing implemented in Gjilan. I hope very much that young people will gain experience, professional skills, and stay in those jobs, which is also the purpose of this program.” said Haziri.

Other beneficiary municipalities from this program are Kaçaniku, Vitia and Hani i Elezit. Over the next few weeks, the Kosovo Manufacturing Club will announce when the applications for the selection of candidates will open in these municipalities.
