Kosovo Manufacturing Club expresses the disappointment that the money of Kosovar tax payers are being used to promote Serbian companies in Kosovo, respectively at the “Prishtina 2018” fair which is organized by Kosovo Chamber of Commerce.

It should be noted that 19 years after the end of the war in Kosovo, not a single company from Kosovo was invited or has participated in any fair in Serbia. While at the main international fair in Kosovo from the total of 174 participating companies, over 50 percent are from Serbia.

For Kosovo Manufacturing Club this is unacceptable when considering all the difficulties which Kosovar producers are facing in relation to discouraging policies of the Serbian state. Many of these difficulties are the numerous tariff and non-tariff barriers, or the all the blockades that Kosovo producers have when they trade within Serbian territory, or when Serbia blocks the transit of Kosovar producers in their trade through Serbia, or the difficulties with failing to implement the agreement on electricity, respectively the blockade that Serbia does to Kosovo with interconnection.

Furthermore, here should be added the daily aggression of the Serbian state in denying Kosovo’s statehood and the continued efforts of the Serbian state against the interests of Kosovo.

For the Kosovo Manufacturing Club it is unacceptable that such a significant space is being given for the promotion of Serbian companies in the Kosovo market, where at the same fair there were very few Kosovar producers invited to participate.

It should also be noted that the mission of the Kosovo’s Chamber of Commerce is the strategic promotion of interests of the country’s economic development, not the promotion of anyone’s personal interests.

Finally, Kosovo Manufacturing Club invites all Kosovar companies participating in this fair, in protest to boycott this fair.
