The Kosovo Manufacturing Club (KMC) reacts with regard to the risk of not controlling imported food products into our country. The last case of meat scandal imported from Belgium to Kosovo clearly indicates that imported products are allowed to enter our country with dubious quality, which do not apply and respect the required standards. This inadequate treatment of imported products not only puts at risk the well-being and life of citizens, but also violates all the principles of competition in the market.
On this occasion, the Kosovo Manufacturing Club called on all authorities and state institutions, such as the Food and Veterinary Agency of Kosovo, to increase the control over imported food products in Kosovo.
At the same time, the KMC encourages and invites all citizens to consume more products produced in our country, because Kosovar producers are more controlled and much more cautious about the quality of food production.
Imported products do not have the same treatment as local products have, the control about local products is more rigorous and their quality is guaranteed. Local products, everyday now are proving their quality and local producers assure all citizens about the quality of their products. Production lines in the country meet all standards and are equipped with the latest technology, where citizens can go to visit all manufacturing companies in the country and see it themselves the conditions of production.
The Kosovo Manufacturing Club hopes to cooperate with institutions and at the same time seeks their engagement in promoting the value of the manufacturing sector and combating not so loyal competition in the country.
