Today at the meeting of the Government of Kosovo was approved a decision that supports the empowerment of local manufacturers and that will reduce the excise rate on beverages. The Kosovo Manufacturing Club supports such a decision, which has a direct impact on increasing the competitiveness of local manufacturers, especially in the beverages sector, and this decision is a great help, especially after the situation created in the manufacturing sector after the COVID- 19 pandemic.
After reviewing the request of the Manufacturing Club, which was submitted to the Government of the Republic of Kosovo, the Ministry of Finance has proposed that certain beverages, subject to figure 2202, which have an excise rate in the amount of 0.045 € (four and a half cents) one liter, this excise rate is reduced to € 0.005 (half a cent) per liter. This draft decision voted today by the Government, enters into force when the Committee on Budget and Transfers of the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo is notified.
Once again, local manufacturers are satisfied and express their gratitude for the support provided and hope that such decisions will be much more frequent and that their requests will be taken into account in the future.
