Today, the Minister of Finance, Mr. Barri Hamza invited at a meeting representatives of the Kosovo Manufacturing Club, the Economic Chamber and the American Chamber of Commerce of Kosovo to discuss new fiscal policies and their impact on business activity.

Minister Hamza said that since the end of last year, the ministry has passed all administrative procedures regarding the measures related to improving the environment and doing business, and expects these decisions to be implemented without any difficulty. According to Mr. Hama, the purpose of these policies is to create the conditions and environment that the bearer of economic growth of the country to be the private sector.

“These decisions are related to the exemption from customs tax on raw materials and the decision to exempt from excise for all fuels used in production. Regarding the passage of VAT payment from the border inside the country is a reform that requires change but that is a great convenience for businesses.” said Mr. Hamza. He also asked from the representatives to be part of the working groups because with their work and expertise they have already identified problems and together we can push the reforms forward.

The Executive Director of the Kosovo Manufacturing Club, Mr.Astrit Panxha, thanked Minister Hamza for pushing forward the implementation of the new fiscal package, as well he thanked the other representatives of business organizations that each submitted recommendations, most of them being considered by the Ministry of Finance.

“For us, as a Kosovo Manufacturing Club, it is very important to start these measures, because the sector that is the most affected is the production sector. We will have facilities on the import of raw materials, as well as the exemption from excise tax on fuels that is very important for cash flow for local producers. Every euro saved for local producers’ means growth in investment, which will reflect on the increasing welfare of citizens.”  Mr. Panxha also announced that the Kosovo Manufacturing Club is working on the drafting of a document that will soon be submitted to the Ministry of Finance concerning the proposal for export stimulation.
