Kosovo Manufacturing Club reports that Kosovo manufactures continue to have difficulties to export their products in to the markets of the region. As the next hurdle for these producers are the requests for additional documents, which are just one of the many barriers that Kosovo manufactures face.
The latest case concerns the export of construction materials from clay, such as blocks, pipes, fittings and other products from this material in to the Macedonian market. It should be noted that these manufactures have had regular exchanges with the Macedonian market and so far have not had such problems.
However, in recent days, Macedonia’s customs have begun to require from manufactures additional documentation. More precisely, the customs authorities since yesterday, to all local manufactures of construction materials who export to Macedonia have asked you to possess the CE Mark certification.
It should be clarified that such a certificate is only required by countries that are part of the European Union, but not by the countries that have signed the CEFTA agreement. Local manufactures also export the same products to Albania and other countries that are part of the CEFTA agreement and they have never been asked for such a certificate.
Kosovo Manufacturing Club, through this press release, hopes in the reaction of Kosovo’s institutions to pressure Macedonia’s authorities to remove all barriers and respect for CEFTA’s signed agreements.
