The manufacturing sector in Kosovo is one of the main driving forces for economic development in our country, contributing constantly in the economic growth and to the creation of new job positions. For many years, the manufacturing sector has faced many serious challenges which have affected its empowerment. To address these challenges and not only, but also to offer possible solutions for the manufacturing sector, Kosovo Manufacturing Club (KMC) organized the First Convention of Kosovo Manufacturers.

The First Convention of Kosovo Manufactures was held on the 29th and 30th of November 2018, at the Emerald Hotel, in Prishtina.

The convention brought together more than 300 manufacturing companies from Kosovo, Albania and Macedonia and was used as a platform for discussion on the economic cooperation between Kosovo and countries of the region.

This Convention was co-organized with Ministry of Trade and Industry and with the sponsorship of the Enhancing Youth Employment – EYE project, Deloitte Kosova, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development – EBRD, ProCredit Bank, USAID EMPOWER Private Sector and the Project of PPSE – Promoting Private Sector Employment. Partners these who with their work has continuously supported the manufacturing sector in Kosovo.

The main purpose of the Manufacturers Convention was strengthening the manufacturing sector and the promotion of “Made in Kosovo” products. Increasing the access of these products to foreign markets and access to education and vocational training of young people were the main topics of this convention which were discussed through various sessions of this convention.

Participants of this convention were manufacturers and representatives of businesses, representatives of government and state institutions, representatives of non-government organizations, various donors and representatives of embassies accredited in Kosovo.

On the opening of this Convention, present was the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr. Ramush Haradinaj, the Minister of Trade and Industry- Mr. Endrit Shala, and the Minister of Finance- Mr. Bedri Hamza, who addressed the audience and showed their support for Kosovo’s manufactures and the local products.
