Today, the Chairman of the Board of the Manufacturing Club, Mr. Bashkim Osmani together with the executive of the KMC were in a meeting with the Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo, Mrs. Vjosa Osmani. The reason for the meeting was the discussion on the current state of the manufacturing sector and advocacy for taking some measures which would directly affect the improvement of this situation.

The Chairman of the Board of the Club, Mr. Bashkim Osmani thanked the Speaker of the Assembly for the reception and expressed his concerns about the challenges that manufacturers are facing during the pandemic, but also their requests for recovery from this situation. According to him, it is extremely necessary to immediately approve the emergency recovery package, which would greatly help local manufacturers, many of whom are on the verge of closing down. Therefore, it is the last time for this package to be approved and its implementation to begin, creating the facilities envisaged for the economy.

Also, Mr. Osmani asked the Speaker of the Assembly, Mrs. Osmani for the support of the Resolution of Manufacturers, where the KMC through this resolution requests that the manufacturing industry to be declared a sector of national importance, where the Government of Kosovo should to support manufacturing enterprises, in order to increase their capacity. Also, the Assembly of Kosovo and the Government of Kosovo should base the economic recovery of the country on the strengthening of the manufacturing industry, as the only solution for sustainable economic development.

During the meeting with the Speaker of Assembly Mrs. Osmani was also mentioned the public procurement initiative, where the KMC asks state and public institutions to include local production in the tender procedures as a criterion, which would support manufacturers during this crisis. and would help in their recovery.

the Speaker of Assembly Mrs. Osmani thanked the representatives of the KMC for the visit and expressed her readiness to support this resolution but also other initiatives, thus staying close to the manufacturers.
