The World Bank Team for Strengthening Kosovo’s Social Protection and Labor System and Finding Solutions for Youth Unemployment, today visited the Manufacturing Club within their mission in Kosovo.

During the visit, World Bank representatives were briefed on business perceptions about employment needs as well as the initiative of the Manufacturing Club for the establishment of the KOCME Training Center.

The Manufacturing Club as one of the most important business organizations in Kosovo announced to the World Bank representatives that the club’s work focuses on increasing the competitiveness of the manufacturing sector. So, the club together with its partners is working on creating a structured program to develop the skills needed for young people to be employed.

KOCME’s main goal will be to build new professional cadres for the needs of companies in the field of employee development and training, product research and design, product competition and the introduction of best global practices in regards to learning process.

The KOCME Training Center will help create an environment where it will promote innovation and will play an important role in making Kosovo a competitive investment site, focusing on attracting investors with export potential.

At present, the manufacturing sector has a profound shortage of skilled workers, especially in food technology, wood and metal processing as well as in the textile and mechatronics industries.
